Introduction: Martial Arts:( Kalari Ppayattu) I also offer group and private classes in Kalaripayattu for people of any age and experience. Kalari is one of the oldest martial arts in the world, said to be the mother of martial arts. It is from Kerala, South India and develops the body to be flexible and strong like a rubber band, capable of doing anything. It is very good for people training in dance, sports, and martial arts, for people who need to develop core strength, for all people interested in health and keeping the body strong and young, and for those interested in self-defense. One can also learn more than a dozen weapons associated with the art. The practice includes a variety of breathing and meditation systems, healthy diet and medicine. It develops holistic living with physical and mental health, improves blood circulation and muscle functions, self-confidence and mental agility, helps to augment body balance and physical fitness, and helps to achieve self-reliance. On the whole, it brings a positive attitude to life. Bodywork: I offer a unique type of bodywork from the martial art of Kalaripayattu. This bodywork is for all people whether they practice sports and want deep-tissue work and alignment or simple relaxation and stress relief. Kalari chikitsa (bodywork) has several forms: * Sukha Thirummal - physical and mental relaxation * Raksha Thirummal - to cure ailments connected with bones and muscles * Katcha Thirummal - bodywork for students of kalari, dance, martial arts, sports and other physical activities on a regular basis. This will help flexibility, agility and develop core strength to perform better.

I've been a student in Anil's Kalarippayattu class for a short while now, and although I am still a beginner, I've already experienced very profound benefits which I only expect to grow with time. I'm one of those people who has always struggled to be healthy, and have experimented with many different forms of exercise, diet, and martial arts. It turned out that Kalarippayattu was the practice that I had needed all my life, and I feel truly lucky to have the opportunity to study this rare art under an authentic master! It truly is a unique art that can be used not only for self-defense, but also to build athletic ability that can then be applied to any activity of your choice. Since taking classes under Anil, my ability to learn physical skills has dramatically improved. I'm finding myself going back and "re-trying" activities that I failed at before, and I'm succeeding as a result of this training. Apart from that, the benefits of Anil's training have extended into nearly all aspects of my life. Anil is an incredible teacher who not only has real mastery of this art, but also knows how to work with different types of people. His intuition and ability to understand the psyche of each of his students has to be seen to be believed. I would highly recommend his classes to anyone interested in learning effective self-defense, cultivating health and fitness, or just becoming a tougher and more resilient person.

I practice martial arts under Anil's teaching and find him an incredible and inspiring teacher. His knowledge of martial arts is deep. As they say, he is not an imitation of the art form, he is the art form itself. He has a great skill to read a student and tell him/her exactly how to begin learning a skill. I have also received bodywork from him - a fascinating type of massage done with the foot, not the hand. It released tension, realigned both muscle and bone, and cleaned out toxins. I feel so fortunate to have found such a teacher. After seeing other doctors and physical therapists, he is the only person I trust for bodywork.

I've been a student and recipient of Anil's work for 8 years and I keep coming back for more. Anil's ability to diagnose issues and treat them is profound and I can honestly say that it's contributed greatly to why I'm in my late 30s and moving better than I did in my early 20s. He's professional and caring, and sees each patient as the whole person, not a single issue.
