Anil Natyaveda is a martial artist (kalari ppyattu), choreographer, dancer, teacher and from Triuvanathapuram, India. He is the Co-Director of Navarasa Dance Theater. He is one of leading exponents of Kalari ppayattu in the world. He has performed all over the world including at the Bates Dance Festival, Lincoln Center, Asian American Theater Festival, USA and Edinburgh Dance Festival, Germany International Summer Theatre Festival, Hong Kong Art Festival and Khaguraho Festival. He has also performed and taught dance classes in USA, Canada and Germany. He is a choreographer for Euripides play at the Theater Arts Program at the Brandeis University. Natyaveda also choreographed for Indian films including Santhosh Sivans Anandabadhram and for Franco Dragones circus show in Germany. Natyaveda is trained in classical dance forms and also in contemporary and aerial dance forms. He has a degree in dance from Sree Swathithirunal Music College, India. In 2008 the Kerala State Guru Gopinath Trust, India, honored him with the Natyaratnam award and in 2012 Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute award for his contribution to Indian arts. Critics have hailed him as an important contemporary choreographer creating original works. He co-choreographed a Greek play at the Brandeis University He was nominated for Los Angeles Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Choreography in 2013.

I also offer group and private classes in Kalaripayattu for people of any age and experience. Kalari is one of the oldest martial arts in the world, said to be the mother of martial arts. It is from Kerala, South India and develops the body to be flexible and strong like a rubber band, capable of doing anything. It is very good for people training in dance, sports, and martial arts, for people who need to develop core strength, for all people interested in health and keeping the body strong and young, and for those interested in self-defense. One can also learn more than a dozen weapons associated with the art. The practice includes a variety of breathing and meditation systems, healthy diet and medicine. It develops holistic living with physical and mental health, improves blood circulation and muscle functions, self-confidence and mental agility, helps to augment body balance and physical fitness, and helps to achieve self-reliance. On the whole, it brings a positive attitude to life.
