When my sister-in-law was looking for a makeup artist for her bridesmaids for her wedding this past June, I didn't hesitate in recommending Nicki Hala. Nicki has an amazing personality that makes you feel instantly comfortable. I'm not a huge makeup person and never wear foundation but the few times I have had my makeup done by Nicki (which I have used her multiple times), I have felt instantly transformed and it's nice because she does an amazing job blending the makeup that I don't even feel like I'm wearing any! She is always on time and listens to what you want and what colors you're going to be wearing and if you don't know much about makeup, she takes the time to explain what products she is using on you. She has her studio in Chicago that she does trials at, but is willing to come to you if needed. You'll love her work!!

Nicki made me look great for some pregnancy pictures I had done. She listened carefully to what I wanted and I was so pleased with her work. Nicki did such a fantastic job on both my engagement shoot as well as Wedding dayin Puerto Rico! She managed to capture just the right look. I mentioned to her what I was looking for and she nailed the look and feel, perfectly. AND, I have to say, I am super impressed with how long my makeup lasted, most especially in the Puerto Rican heat! All of my b-maids had such a blast working with Nicki as well. She's personable and amazing at what she does. If you're ever looking for someone to pretty up your face for that special day, whatever it may be, book with Nicki!

I won a free makeup session with Nicki as a promotion and I can literally say it was one of the coolest things I've ever won. I'm a nurse so I don't wear a lot of makeup so when I got my makeup done for my birthday I felt like a princess. She was so kind and courteous and funny. And she made me look damn good! The whole experience was so professional. She gave me a full face of make up with fake lashes in under and hour and it held up even through the rain that night. I would definitely use her again.

Nicki was a pleasure to work with in my first visit (engagement shoot), she was able to do hair/makeup at crack of dawn on a Sunday which I felt was very accommodating. For my mehendi, she came on her birthday the day after Xmas which was very nice of her to agree to do. She is super sweet and caring. I have worked with her twice but can't wait for my next visit :)

Yes, I do like to take continuing education courses, so I know the latest trends in makeup. I take courses through MAC Cosmetics because they offer an array of courses that help me stay up on the latest products and trends.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been passionate about makeup from a young age and I finally took the plunge to turn my hobby into a profession when I was on maternity leave.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I do mostly bridal makeup and makeup for photo shoots.
