FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge a flat fee for rehearsal and ceremony. This fee varies depending upon travel required and time of year. I also offer an additional optional service of pre-marital counseling service. We can meet via zoom or in person at my office in Arlington, Virginia. This is a flat fee of $350 for 3 sessions, each lasting 1 hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For ceremonies scheduled less than 30 days in advance: We will meet once via zoom or phone to discuss your hopes for your ceremony. I will share the appropriate resources based on your preferences (religious or non-religious ceremony) during our meeting so that we can create your commitment ceremony. For ceremonies scheduled more than 30 days in advance: First, I will send you some options to review for the various parts of the ceremony. I have tailored my resources to offer both religious and non-religious options as you select the readings for your ceremony. I also request that you and your future spouse each write me a letter, typically no later than two weeks before your wedding. Please tell me: Why do you love your future spouse? Why do you want to marry this person? It will help me as I prepare for your ceremony. The content of these letters will be a surprise to your spouse, and I will give them to you following the wedding so you can read them in their entirety. Then, once you make your selections and I get your letters I create a ceremony based on your selections, include any additional readings or requests that you give to me, and create a serviced tailored the information you share with me in your letters.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Boston University School of Theology awarded my Master of Divinity degree in 2007. In 2007 I registered with the Arlington County Clerk of Court as a licensed wedding officiant, and am able to officiate weddings in any county in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
