Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: With no prior musical experience, I began my study of piano at age twenty. I made astonishing progress and within my first year of study, entered the Conservatory of Music at SUNY Purchase College where I studied under renowned piano pedagogue Stephanie Brown. I now performs throughout New England, and make annual appearances at the Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music summer festival in Nelson, NH. My unorthodox path required me to discover the most efficient and effective practice methods, which I pass on to my students. My approach to teaching focuses on building the connections between keyboard, body, and mind, creating a technical grounding that grants confidence and musical freedom. In my lessons, I maintain a safe and supportive emotional environment while holding students to high musical standards. I love to work with the enthusiasm and potential that total beginners bring, while delving into deep aspects of pianism with advanced students. I encourage students of all ages to not be afraid to begin lessons!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I charge $40 for 30 minutes, $55 for 45 minutes, and $70 for 60 minutes. I travel to your home, or have a home studio if you prefer to come to me for a discounted rate. If you live outside a 10 mile radius of my studio, I charge a $10 travel fee.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I continue my own study of music in a serious manner. While maintaining a teaching schedule, I also spend 4-5 hours a day practicing piano myself. I still take lessons from the most qualified piano pedagogues in the area. In addition, I maintain an academic study of music theory and history and consistently attend live concerts.
