FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It was an accident, really. I was recruited to play a non-DJ DJ night at a local restaurant. I prepared, trained up, did it, killed it and fell in love. I was a DJ from that night forward.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Special events. While personally, I love nothing more than to take audiences on a flowing soulful vocal house journey, I'm most often hired to set a mood for film premieres, lounges and galleries. It would be a nod to local radio station KCRW to say my playing style is rather like some of theirs.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The best DJ's are the ones that know how to play one good song after another, and have a trajectory for their sets that follows both the flow of the evening and what the customer is looking for. But, like a chef, you hire a DJ for their own musical style and not how closely they stick to a playlist. There's Pandora for that.
