Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am specialized in Blues, especially the Stevie Ray Vaughan type of playing which I have been working on in my whole life. I am very detail oriented if it comes to Stevie and will teach my students every little nuances about his playing style. The best part is that I really enjoy what I do. It's always fun and I'm always happy to see when people enjoy the music when I play. Also very important to me to share my knowledge with others, especially the younger generation. They have to know what real music is.

When I first met Mr. Tommy Katona Jr. I was stunned how easily could I overcome my overall shyness and distrust in a matter of minutes, thanks to his excellent manners and natural charm. He was always very patient, instantly understanding my subtle needs, yet his unbelievable command over the instrument gave me terrific inspiration, truly an example to follow. Learning was easy and results came quickly. Not losing ourselves in technique - he really made me understand the magic of music, placing great emphasize on soul and 'why' are we playing music in the first place. Getting to know him was a life-changing experience. I recommend him with confidence to anybody who wants to get educated in the art of the guitar.

Tommy is a great instructor. He taught me what I wanted to learn. He kept me motivated, not only to practice what he had taught me, but also how to learn songs by myself (developing my ear for music). But most of all, he was patient and not intimidating. I could ask him questions (no matter how stupid they seemed to be) and he always made me feel accepted and good about musical growth. I’ve know Tommy for 4 or 5 years now, and I have recommended him to many adults wanting to learn how to play or just simply learn a technique as well as to parents wanting the best for their children. Thanks Tommy – Keep Bluesin’ it up!!

I know Mr. Tommy Katona for more than seven years now, I learned quite a big chunk of my guitar skills from him. Suffice to say, I was stunned by his prowess from day one, but the incredible ability he possesses to make you understand and really 'listen' to the matter at hand is remarkable. Very patient and always charming, easily making you feel comfortable and release students' self-distrust quickly - a real teacher of guitar mojo. I can recommend this guy over anybody but I got to warn you: sitting and listening to Tommy play for two minutes makes you want to learn to play guitar in an irreversible desire. Way to go, bro'!

Tommy is the inspiration and teacher to my 13 year old daughter. His never ending patience reflects his love for the art of guitar playing. To hear Tommy play, makes a person want to learn to play as well and hope to one day be 1/2 as good as he is. He's incredibly easy and flexible to work with and I would recommend him to anyone who wants to learn to play.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

From beginners to more experienced guitar players, I provide guitar lessons suited to your level of skill. I also have a flexible schedule to work with to accommodate all students' schedules!

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Try to find an experienced guitar player to learn from. There are lot of guitar players around and lot of them are trying to teach as well, but I don't think a lot them have the background and knowledge to do it right. If you want to be a good player, choose the best instructor with a good name and reputation. I have plenty of experience and many years of playing, that's why I think I can help you more than others.
