FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Choices Pet Sitters pricing for drop-in visits and dog walking services start at $28 per half-hour within 5 miles from our business address. Drop-in or dog walking services outside this 5-mile range are quoted for a 60-minute visit. $28 for a 30-minute dog walking or drop-in visit for one large dog, two small dogs, or two cats $38 for a 45-minute dog walking or drop-in visit for up to two large dogs $52 for a 60-minute drop-in visit for up to four dogs Mini-Farm visits for livestock pets outside start at $52 and are custom quoted depending on the time required to properly care for your number of pets. If you have additional inside pets those are quoted based on your need for an additional 30 minute or longer visit. There is an additional $5 surcharge for holiday visits which we give directly to our sitters as compensation for not being able to spend holiday time with their families. Note: Multiple senior and geriatric pets or young animals with senior animals require at least a 45-minute visit to properly care for their slower pace. As a Fear Free Professionally managed business, we do our best to work with the capabilities and needs of each pet and we feel it is not fair to rush the older pets to relieve themselves on a human schedule. COVID-19 changes - For safety reasons, we have temporarily halted Overnight Pet Sitting Services.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Choices Pet Sitters wants to develop a long term relationship with our customers and give their pets the care they deserve. We start with gathering basic questions about your location and pets so we can estimate how long it will take to care for and check up on each pet during visits. After we answer your questions we wet up a Meet and Greet consultation so you can meet us and assess our professionalism. At this meeting we ask that you show us your pet's daily routine, where supplies are kept, and what to do with pet waste. At this consultation, you will get a chance to see our bonding and insurance information, qualifications, pictures of Choices Pet Sitters about town, and view other information about our services. We collect two keys at this time - one that your primary sitter will keep, and one that will be stored at the office in case your sitter has a flat tire or is delayed for some reason and a backup sitter needs to temporarily cover a visit. We confirm your visits a few days in advance (a few weeks in advance as well as a few days in advance if you schedule months ahead - that way you won't stress that you are on our schedule for that October vacation you booked in May) by phone or text and we wait for your confirmation. Any other questions can be answered by our friendly and experienced staff by calling the office or the Manager's cell phone.
