FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began teaching at age 19 and found it to be very enjoyable. I wouldn't want to do anything else!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I help people to read music, play by ear, understand that science of music (music theory), and create music themselves.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If you wish for your child to learn the piano or any instrument, make sure they really want to learn for themselves. If you as the parent or the teacher has to continually remind them to practice, then it likely will not work out in the long term. The goal of learning any instrument should be to play because of personal love of the sound of the instrument, as well as love of music. All other reasons will likely result in unhappiness and dissatisfaction on behalf of the parents, student, and teacher. Music education should be excellent, with the purpose of creating independence in learning, so that the student has the ability to eventually make informed decisions and learn autonomously.
