Introduction: I offer everything from classical technique and musical theatre repertoire to pop/rock coaching. We will start training from a technical base, developing a healthy warm-up regimen designed to both stretch your range and prevent unhealthy vocal damage. Then we will work through all sorts of repertoire depending on your personal interest. The key to ultimate freedom in singing is a well-laid technical base, so I train all of my singers to sing correctly from the traditional bel canto method. Particular emphasis is spent on placement, diction, the elimination of jaw/tongue/neck tension, and correcting bad singing habits. I'm an actor/writer/director in NYC with extensive experience off-Broadway and in film and television. A graduate of NYU Tisch, my work has been featured in places as diverse as the New York Times, Village Voice, Daily News, The Advocate, Howard Stern, Perez Hilton, and the New York Magazine Approval Matrix. As a writer, my musical, Fat Camp, appeared off-Broadway, won Best of Fest at the New York Musical Theatre Festival, and is slated for a Broadway run next season. My shows have also played across the country and in New York theaters like Barrow Street and Ars Nova. As an actor, I've originated roles in many premiere musicals such as Chaplin (Alf Reeves) and the OBIE winning Adding Machine, and my film and television acting credits include Law & Order, Across the Universe, The Producers, Naked Brothers Band, Strangers with Candy, War of the Worlds, and The Sopranos. My teachers have included Kathleen Turner, Barbara Cook, Betty Buckley, and Kevin Kline. Now I'm ready to teach YOU!
