Santa Barbara's low-level laser therapy center and FDA-approved cold laser alleviate chronic pain, accelerate healing, and reduce the physical symptoms of stress!

Are you looking for a therapy that can help your body heal from chronic injuries and relieve pain? Low-level laser therapy is changing the way health care practitioners are helping individuals heal from injuries and chronic disease and improve their quality of life.

How LLLT is used to treat pain:

Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) can provide proven pain relief, usually within 6-10 treatment sessions. This non-invasive procedure, which also is called advanced cold laser therapy, utilizes the latest technology, and is FDA-approved for the treatment of many types of chronic and acute pain including ( to name a few):

• Back pain
• Neck pain
• Carpal tunnel syndrome
• Tendonitis
• Fibromyalgia
• Sports injuries

Professional athletes utilize laser therapy to aid in reduction of healing time. Laser therapy can be used in combination with other types of pain treatment such as physical therapy and massage therapy.

People worldwide are experiencing the benefits of low-level laser therapy by reducing their dependence on pain medications, decreasing or eliminating pain, and returning to a more productive and healthier life.

Light energy from low-level lasers penetrates deep into musculoskeletal tissue (e.g. muscles, joints, bones) to:

• Relieve pain
• Reduce swelling and inflammation
• Promote tissue repair and healing
• Improve blood supply (circulation)
• Stimulate the immune system

Other advantages for patients and physicians include shorter treatment times and faster results (i.e. compared to other pain relief procedures) and a high rate of patient satisfaction.

How many laser sessions will I need to see results?

Chronic conditions take longer and might require 6 to 12 treatments. While these are the averages, each person is unique, and healing time varies by person and condition. For those with lifelong conditions, we are able to get clients on a 1 to 2-month maintenance schedule.

It's not uncommon for patients to feel improvement after their very first treatment. In other cases, especially chronic and tough conditions, you may not feel improvement for a number of treatments. This doesn't mean that it's not working. Why? Because each treatment is cumulative.

Results are very commonly often felt after 3 or 4 sessions. Many clients have had their problems for years, and they're overjoyed if they feel better in a few weeks.

Obviously, all conditions are different. As a guideline and a generalization, most tendonitis cases require maybe around 6 treatments over a 2-week period to heal the pain and inflammation.

On the other hand, a chronic arthritis knee pain treatment may require more treatments—maybe as many as 12 to 15 laser treatments. When results are achieved, an occasional "booster" once monthly of laser therapy will keep you feeling better, and are relaxing, healing and enjoyable.

In many cases, pain and inflammation are improved after the very first treatment. For most conditions, a minimum series of 6 treatments are recommended. We schedule them with no more than 1 to 2 days in between, as the effects of the laser are cumulative. You feel better with each successive treatment.

Many clients come back for follow-up booster sessions regularly to ensure proper recovery after intense exercise or for fatigued and tired muscles.

Once the 6 are finished, you may choose to have treatments monthly or every two months, depending on how good you feel. Please call us for more information and pricing of treatment series packages.

We are very excited about the opportunity to provide our clients with the latest advances in laser light medicine. Pacific Laser Therapy Centers use an FDA-approved low-level laser device.

Laser light medicine, commonly referred to as photo medicine, is one of the fastest growing fields of alternative healthcare today.

Stress management for the 21ST century:

• Laser increases amounts of feel good chemicals, such as dopamine and endorphins in the body, which reduces the physical symptoms of stress

• Without side effects that are seen in anti-anxiety or anti-depressant drugs

• Mindfulness exercises help people recognize troublesome behaviors and thought patterns that lead to unrealistic fear and anxiety

• PLTC's lifestyle management plan empowers our clients to develop a daily exercise, diet and relaxation schedule personally geared to each client's short and long-term fitness and well-being goals.

How many sessions will I need?

The effects of the laser are cumulative, and although some people see improvement in 1 to 3 sessions, many clients enjoy the true calming benefits of cold laser after 6 sessions.

Individuals with chronic stress issues may require 12 to 15 sessions, although results vary from person to person. Once the 6 or 12-session series are finished, you may choose to have treatments monthly or every two months, depending on how good you feel.

Many of my clients will check in with me on a monthly basis, and purchase a booster session to maintain their mind-body balance going forward.

We are FDA approved. Laser therapy has been successfully utilized in Europe, Asia and Canada for over 40 years. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the use of low-level laser therapy for pain management use in the United States.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Ask the therapist:

1. How long they have been practicing
2. The type cold laser device they use
3. The practitioners' treatment approach
4. Cost

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. How LLLT Works

Low level laser therapy aims to photo-bio-stimulate the cells which excite the cells.. Low level laser device transmits photons. The skin then is absorbing these photons. At most these laser devices can penetrate down into the body’s tissue at roughly 3 inches depth. Take note that this does not cause heat to damage the tissues.

Once this photons reaches the cells of the body, these beams can promotes a lot of cellular activities. It can ignite the production of enzymes, collagen substances so that the cells will function well. Also since there is a higher production of cells, this will help in speeding up the healing process while it ease the pain felt by the body.
The low level laser therapy works because of how cells react to it. When lasers are applied to cells, it is called photo-bio-stimulation. Cells seemingly "talk" to each other more via laser therapy. Lasers transmit photons about 3 inches deep into the skin. Mitochondria in the skin membranes absorb the laser's red light, which causes an increase of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production. Increased ATP means healthier cells.

•Laser increases amounts of feel good chemicals such as dopamine and endorphins in the body which reduces the physical symptoms of stress
Reduces pain by causing the production of natural pain killer endorphins.
• Reduces inflammation by suppressing inflammatory enzymes that create swelling, redness, pain, and heat and enhances the release of anti-inflammatory enzymes.
• Enhances lymphatic drainage, which increases circulation and speeds healing.
• Stimulates the release of helpful healing enzymes.
• Releases tight muscles (both smooth and striated) that create chronic pain, joint problems, and decreased mobility.
• Speeds bone repair by stimulating fibroblastic and osteoblastic proliferation.
• LLLT in the correct frequency appears to be antiviral, antifungal, and antiherpetic.”

In a nutshell: Low level laser therapy repolarizes sick or injured cells, allowing them to once again take in oxygen and nutrients and pass out wastes and toxins. LLLT reestablishes the permeability of the cell, while at the same time donating photons to cells and Mitochondria, which is directly converted into AdenosineTriPhosphate (ATP), the chemical energy required for healing and rejuvenation.
