- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists in Minnesota are required by our license to obtain 30 hours every 2 years of continuing education in our field. In addition, I provide supervision to MFT graduate students who join my in some therapy sessions. Part of my education every year is devoted to increasing my Supervision skills.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Finding a quality therapist is a lot like finding any personal service provider; you may want to ask a close friend for a recommendation, a clergy person or look online for information. But don't stop there. Call and ask to spend a few minutes learning about the therapist's credentials, methods and perspective on your issue. By the end of your call, you'll have a good idea if it's worth your time to schedule that first appointment.
