FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I usually charge 30 dollars an hour for any music lessons. If you are looking for a producer, my colleague and friend, Matt Ferarri, could record and I could produce your record with his amazing home studio, Psycho Monkey Records. Email Matt Ferarri for pricing: Matt@PsychoMonkeyRecords.com

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have always loved music, since a very young age. I decided to put my GI Bill to use in learning to be a professional at Musicians Institute and studying for 3 years there; everything from how to play every genre, to how to build a recording studio, to how to make a professional album; rehearsing, performing, mixing, mastering and marketing your own music, and also how the current industry operates and its history.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

What you really need is someone who can give you the information in a way that is easily digestible and actively apply the techniques to you. I've trained with lots of different teachers, all with different styles. Plus I learned a thing or two about overcoming frustrations with learning a musical instrument. Its not easy, and its not for the weak-minded or lazy. Its about meeting goals, yes, but it shouldn't cost you your sanity. This, I've found, is a big issue after a few lessons with a lot of students. When you take a musician out of their comfort zone, the ill-prepared ones will be on edge, and in the end play not to their best potential. The true musician will know the fundamentals so well, that any progression played in any style will be something that he/she looks to add their mark on, while playing along with the other band members. Or if you are a solo musician, the best musician will ignore any distraction from the audience, or ignore a mistake they make so it will not derail the performance. Being that "best musician" means practicing things that are out of your "comfort zone". But of course, you still got work the money-makers, so a balance of practicing what makes you feel good and learning that which you don't "like" is the key to being a well rounded player and entertainer.
