I read every good magazine to keep up with the latest trends. I observe people everywhere--malls,airports, streets of major cities.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It was a perfect transition from being a costume designer and stylist for film/TV and print.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Rethink with my client the look they have. Set shopping list/goals Seasonal additions and deletions (edits) Educate my clients about what components make for great style Shop for new wardrobes Show the client mix/matching possibilities Design from scratch (I draw well). I hire a seamstress for special designs. I shop for specific events (weddings, balls, charity events etc) Teach all about creative use of color Teach all about quality Teach resources and brands I believe in (and those I don't) Teach all about correct fit Teach how certain styles will age you--and which looks will be youthful and appropriate. Show how one can transition from a career wardrobe to a casual wardrobe that works for a new lifestyle
