Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Other coaches only focus in one area of performance (Acting, Dance, Voice, etc.) When you walk into an audition you are the total package, so therefore Shining Light's philosophy is focusing on all three of these skills as opposed to just one. I love that "Ah-ha!" Moment when I see a client finally achieve a goal that they have been striving towards. That "Shining Light" in a clients eye then they have conquered that challenging vocal piece, are able to execute their first dance combination, or successfully walk into an audition confidently is what makes my job awesome!

Having referred my own clients to Robby on various occasions, I can say he is an amazing teacher. Robby is easily able to gauge the (often varying) levels of his students and teach at a speed that is comfortable for them. His animated personality and friendly attitude keep kids engaged and positive while they learn. Students leave his classes feeling happy, accomplished, and excited for their next class.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Everyday I am acquiring knowledge and education by being constantly immersed in the entertainment industry. Mainly peers of mine are casting director, agents, managers, directors and we collaborate constantly on projects. Therefore I am always aware the new "trends" in the industry.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I recently directed and choreographed "Hairspray" the musical for the Sheriff's Youth Foundation of Los Angeles, and I'm currently choreographing "13" the Musical for ACT San Diego.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If you don't feel comfortable with that person, don't hire them. Don't be enamored by flashy titles and "big names" in this business. If you or your child is not comfortable with that person, they will not grow. You want a coach that is talented and extremely skilled, yet also positive and uplifting.
