Introduction: I teach beyond what a Mel/Bay booklet would. I'm versed in guitar and I have been playing for 35 years. Also, I like playing bass and keyboard, but also very versed in the function of MIDI guitar.
I am helping get the perfect sound for my clients as I have one of the best set-ups for teaching. Also, there's a computer integration as most of my outboard gear is computer driven, e,g., Guitar Rig Pro 5, my Eventide H9 with IPAD integration, Pro Tools, and Dxi's, VSTS and other plug-ins. I also am a sliding scale in payments.
The first lesson is free to see if we jive. I need to also say that I do not know how to read music as I was born dyslexic so written music never worked out for me. I do teach all modes of scales, also exercises to help get you playing good with feeling. I teach you on how to use your ear as that has been my biggest help with my playing. I can show you how to be the best that you want to be. I'm also not mean or nasty as far as a lot of teachers I had when I was a beginner was a Mel-Bay book and playing like "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star!", and was a real mean demeanor. I, the opposite, encourage especially when you move into a higher level of playing. I will also teach about different guitars and the differences as far as pick-ups, different coil splitting, the difference in different Tremolos as I have 12 guitars all different as far as trems. I have standard, Bigsby, Floyd Rose, and Trans/Trem.
I will also teach about guitar and other instrumental hook up and the proper configuration of stomp boxes and effects. From a 46 year old semi professional (well, I was in bands in my younger years and I'm not a bragger on that), I just hope you give me a shot as I have a feeling that if you want to be the best newest player around, give me a chance. One last thing I forgot, I also like to teach about the different tunings as alternate tuning is what can really give a composition you wrote to be your own! You don't even need to bring a guitar or amp as I have that covered, unless you want to do it on yours (which is actually a great thing to do).
I also know upkeep and intonation, which is one of the things that I teach, as every guitarist should be able to intonate their guitars themselves. I also am teaching how to use the truss rod as a friend to get your action perfect! I hope to meet you one day.
