Rahim and his crew have catered 5 events for me thus far. I am a model and have many parties and small scale fashion shows for the items (clothing & accessories) that I am marketing. He has served various wraps for almost 70 guests at a hotel banquet room, Italian foods for my "roman goddess" themed event and an array of soul food for a casting party I hosted. I recommend him highly. Very friendly, quick on his feet, food was excellent and he allowed me to customize items and special request with short notice.

Chef Rahim and his crew worked an event at our establishment before and they did a fantastic job pushing the food out. They are very clean, they communicate, they help each other when needed, and focused. You can tell they are passionate about what they do. Everything went very well.

Rahim provides catering for events that I host in the Chicagoland area. He is awesome! He is very attentive to detail and client satisfaction. He is always on time, professional and usually brings additional items to ensure all goes as expected. His rates are very reasonable. He brings much experience to the table within his field but also brings a genuine care and desire to please and beat expectations. I have hired Rahim exclusively for my evens and have worked with him for 8 months now. I will continue to use Back2Basics and would refer him to anyone seeking cooking lessons, a personal chef or catering.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have standard pricing but the pricing changes based upon the client's needs and means.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The initial step is a free consultation in your home (or by phone if requested) to review food preferences and to determine which type of service is desired. We will discuss your food likes and dislikes and any allergies or medical conditions you may have by completing a Client Questionnaire form that I send via email or provide in person. After this is complete, we schedule our catering, class or cooking session(s).
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in baking and pastry from Le Cordon Bleu Of Chicago and many years of experience in Fine Dining and Casual Dining Restaurants. I specialize in vegetarian, vegan, paleo, gluten free and other dietary and health focused meals.
