FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We attend seminars, workshops and stay up to date with the current photography trends and equipment by reading professional photography magazines. We are a member of PPA (Professional Photographers of America) and attend Imaging USA yearly.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My father was an art teacher and introduced me to my first SLR camera at the age of 16. He also built a darkroom and showed me how to develop my own film and prints. I took photography, graphic design and fine art classes in college and those skills developed into my signature photographic style.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Know a little bit about the technical aspects of photography, and ask your potential photographer questions that they should know the answer to. Make sure they know how to shoot in manual mode (you'd be surprised!) and know enough about lighting to ensure a great outcome in different situations. There's a big difference in shooting in perfect outdoor conditions and shooting in a dark reception room. They should know how to adapt and be able to do so without thinking. It is second nature for us because we've been doing it so long - if your photographer has to think about what they need to do, they are going to miss great shots!
