When looking for a graphic designer, make sure they understand your business, your business identity and personality (yes, your business does have a personality and if you can tap into this effectively, you will win authenticity points), and what marketing goals you're trying to achieve. Understanding this first will help them help you. If they don't know about your industry, are they willing to do the research and find out? Are they problem solvers? This is key. The ability to creative find solutions to problems, whether they be for marketing, design, or overall business strategy is the difference between a mediocre and fantastic designer.
