FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attend Denver Tarot Meetups as often as possible and have offered Tarot Haiku through them. I intend to offer other events to develop my use of Tarot and.or tea readings. I read various books on tea leaf reading and engage in a Facebook community where members share and discuss photos of tea readings.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My grandmother read tea as an off-the-cuff, fun activity on occasion when I was young. Legend has it she learned to read patterns in nature from her grandmother, a Cherokee. I have long been fascinated by Tarot cards and bought my first deck and began to study them when I was 17. When earning my MFA in poetry, I needed to create a book-length collection of poetry. Tarot became a perfect inspirational device, and this made me reconsider reading for a living.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I offer readings at a metaphysical store in Denver and I love reading at fairs in the metro area. I am also eager to do more workshops: I have taught Tarot haiku. I have demonstrated tea leaf reading and given and overview as well for Lighthouse Writers in Denver. I will soon give an orientation to tea leaf reading at Gnomes Nook in Denver, with a mind toward children. They will receive handouts to prompt them to create their own tea symbol stories. Themes such as manifestation, serenity and prosperity will be a focal point for future events, where participants will get to hone in on a number of tea reading symbols and briefly study their use in tea readings.
