FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I stay current in the fitness field by reading science periodicals, investing in well over 100 fitness information products and discussing methods with teachers in the industry as well as physical therapists, acupuncturists and massage therapists. I enjoy certifications but after a gentleman in the top of my industry stated that any book that comes out is roughly 3 years behind the times I figured I'd shift my thinking. Fitness products and classes are about as close to real time as you can get. I see some certifications I'd like to have though so they'll be forthcoming. I have played all kinds of sports competitively and use that experience to help you out. Whether it be mountain biking, playing tennis, golf, basketball, football, soccer, baseball, volleyball, 5k's, hiking, camping, etc., I can relate to and apply my experience to nearly anything you do. I'm looking forward to helping YOU achieve your goals this year!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Going through college I couldn't figure out what I was going to do. My favorite class was Biological Psychology and how the mind interacted with the body so....Sports Psychology? Clinical Psychologist?....nothing seemed to fit. SO...each morning while I was in the shower I would imagine having won the lottery with no need for money ever again and then I would imagine different careers to see if any seemed worth doing. I thought of personal training one morning after a kinesiology class discussed it and I was set. THIS makes me happy. Helping others brings me happiness.
