Avocational archaeologist Eugene Baldwin brings Illinois Indian artifacts to your school, library, club, etc.
Gene's collection (all found by him in his native southwest Illinois) includes arrowheads, spear points, stone tools, sculpture, jewelry, amulets, stone knives, pottery and other pieces dating from 25,000 BC to AD 1000.
Audiences hold ancient artifacts and learn about the four epochs of Indian prehistory, including the Mississippian settlement known as "The City of the Sun," now called Cahokia Mounds State Monument where, in 1142, over 20,000 First People lived as an organized society, making the site the largest city in the world.
Part Shawnee Indian, Gene has worked with and shared his finds with archaeologists in several state universities.
