We originally contacted Nick Karasek through the recommendation of someone he had assisted in the past. Mr. Karasek came highly recommended and exceeded all of our expectations. Nick Karasek developed three websites for me for a national level charity project I am involved in. One was a national site and the others were specific to two states. He started this work 4 years ago, and it continues to the present time. I want to say that the thousands of hours he has put into this have all been pro bono. I can't say enough about the excellent work he did. Our specifications were complicated, but Nick immediately grasped the complexities and built a user-friendly, intuitive site that trained users and the general public could use with equal ease. He also built a database consisting of thousands of personnel entries, and the web site links seamlessly to the database. Additionally, he set up routines that auto-populated the state databases from the national, saving me countless hours of manual data entry. Also, he created maintenance modules, so I could easily upload information and photos to the state websites. I have been very impressed by many aspects of Nick's work. Visually, our websites are gorgeous, and intuitively functional. He has been very responsive whenever I had a question, or there was any issue. Beyond that, he understands our needs so well that he often had suggestions for enhancements that helped us, and made the sites even better. When we, the administrators asked for a new functionality, we always had it within days, literally. He delivered new changes fully tested and working. The levels of functionality are also amazing. We can sort the data in almost any sequence, and filter for any combination of fields. The sites are also interactive with general population viewers, who can request services from the websites. Nick also built in a secure layer, so personnel-sensitive information is protected from general viewing, but available behind password protection to system administrators. We have administrators spread across the country, many of whom were not that computer literate. Once the national site was up and running, Nick was tireless and endlessly patient in spending the time to train everyone. Nick is a gifted web site and database designer. I hope he continues to use his talents and skills -- any company using him will benefit greatly.

We have served together on the Board of Directors and Nick has also served as the Club's Webmaster for a number of years. Nick developed under my direction the homeofthebravequilts.com and continues to maintain this site. He also developed operationsupportfordeployedmilitary.org which has since been discontinued. Nick is knowledgeable, dependable, trustworthy and prompt. There is nothing that would have improved my experience with Nick. He is very personable and professional in all he does.

Nick designed my website in 2002 and continues to maintain it to the present. I am not a computer person and am very appreciative of his patience with me. I did not want a cookie cutter website and especially liked the level of creativity that he has used to create a first class presence on the web for me. He has also been very proactive about keeping my site current with upgrades. I think he would be a great asset on the heathcare website.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I receive numerous technical news letters which tout the latest developments in programming techniques, offer tips for specific languages, and provide algorithms for specific tasks. I cull through this information looking for better and/or more efficient was to do the work requires of me.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have loved working with computers from my first days in college. The advent of the internet provided a rapid development environment that gives almost instant gratification for implementation of a new algorithm, programming technique (usually Javascript, of course), and data flow. With this increased availability of tailored applications comes a much wider base of potential clients - and the wider base of application focus.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Convert a paper-based office process to an online, web-based process complete with the usual data backup, data validation on entry, and 24-hour access from remote workstations.
