Introduction: I like being as unobtrusive as possible and capturing real (rather than staged) moments is very important to me, so my style is largely photojournalistic. I do think it's necessary and fun to do some stylized, elegant couple photos that are natural and beautiful. In the same vein, my family photos are very casual and not overly posed. Manhattan based photographer, Jayd Gardina, has been published in The Knot Magazine, The Knot Online, Photo District News, The Wedding Wire, The New York Daily News, Ruffled Blog, and Lucky Me Blog, among others. She has recently been named one of the 2011 Best of Wedding Vendors by The Knot. Jayd moved to NYC in 2005 and worked in marketing during the week while pursuing photography on the weekends. In 2008, due to word-of-mouth, good online marketing, and happy clients, Jayd was able to open her studio full time. Jayd has shot over 200 weddings in the tristate area. She also loves to shoot musicians, actors, artists, dancers, and portraits of interesting people. Some high-profile events include a private dinner party with the host of top chef, Padma Lakshmi, Barry Manilow's induction to the New York City Friar's Club, A Donna Karen Holiday Party, and the Barenaked Ladies live at Tarrytown Music Hall.
