FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is pretty basic. We charge as low as $60 for a 60 minute session. We recommend an initial evaluation that typically takes 90-120 minutes for $120. This allows us take a thorough history, perform postural and gait analysis, range of motion testing and still have at least an hour for hands on treatment and self-care instruction. We offer 25% the initial purchase for Thumbtack members, so if you choose the $120 evaluation and treatment, it is $90. If you choose a multi-session package up front, your sessions could be as low as $45!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are required by the State of Illinois to complete 24 hours, every two years, of continuing education. The National Association of Myofascial and Trigger Point Therapists requires 20 hours each year. I typically take at least twice that and travel to conferences and seminars where leaders in our field teach the latest advancements in our work.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started out as a pre-med student but switched to piano and then started several businesses in technology and the music business. After a series of injuries I realized that my doctors, who were otherwise very good, could not help me and I sought out another solution. The Myofascial and Trigger Point Therapist I saw encouraged me to enter the field, confident that I would be good at it and be able to help people.
