Introduction: Bill Price is an attorney in private practice in Warrenville, Illinois. He is a member of the Institute for Illinois Business Laws, in which capacity he chaired the subcommittees that wrote both versions of the state Limited Liability Companies Act. He served as the Chairman for the ISBA Corporation, Securities, and Business Law Section Council from 2007 to 2008, and is a member of that Section Council from 2011 to 2102. Mr. Price is a 2011-2012 member of the Administrative Law Section Council, for which he is general editor for the 2007 edition of the ISBA Handbook of Illinois Administrative Law, and edits the Section newsletter. His private practice includes business and administrative litigation, international and national transactions, and nonprofit entity law. He was appointed by Governor Edgar as the state Small Business Utility Advocate, and this was confirmed by the Illinois Senate. He also has taught courses in private equity and venture capital project financing at the Stuart Graduate School of Business, Illinois Institute of Technology. Books by Mr. Price include Illinois Law Office Practice Forms (Michie Co., 1995), which provides a forms set for use in real estate, family estate and business matters for Illinois law offices, and Limited Liability Organizations (Specialty Technical Publications, Vancouver, BC), which covers every form of business entity in the 50 states and many foreign countries. Bill chaired the subcommittees of the Secretary of State’s Corporation Laws Advisory Committee which drafted the Illinois Limited Liability Companies Act, and from 1982 until its dissolution in 2005, he served on that Committee as an observer or member. He is a member of its successor, the Institute for Illinois Business Laws. He is a 1978 graduate of Duke University School of Law, and holds a Masters in Public Policy Sciences from Duke issued that year, as well. He is a 1974 graduate (Magna Cum Laude) of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
