FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Always! I attend classes every single month to further my knowledge in the field. From technology improvements to legal changes, to negotiating tactics, I read books and attend classes on a continuous basis.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was nine years old, my family was relocating from an urban area, to a rural one, and I recall sitting with my parents in the realty office looking through books of listings with the promise that "if we find the right one, we'll get a pony." Well, we found the right one, and got a pony-and I've been hooked on real estate as a way to make dreams come true ever since. I spent many years of my career working in public policy for the building industry, and kept coming back to how real estate investment, sales and development can make dreams come true if done properly. After leaving public policy, I spent several years running my own company providing service to the mortgage and escrow business, and studying real estate--and made the leap to real estate sales in early 2013.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My core clients are clients making their first move up in house, or downsizing, and investors. I also do a very large volume of condominium transactions--I'm experienced with different condominium organizations and structures, assessments, and all of the advantages and disadvantages of condominiums projects. I also help investor clients assess rental property, often getting involved before renovation to help the client evaluate the worthwhile construction upgrades to make, helping prevent 'over-renovation' and a profitable flip or rental. I also do residential leasing (tenant procurement only, no property management). This is a less-expensive option to find a tenant quickly for an investor-owner who doesn't mind answering their own maintenance calls but doesn't want to handle tenant showings/marketing and screenings.
