Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Performances include Birthday Parties, Bridal Showers, Wedding Rehearsal Dinners, Wedding Receptions, and Corporate Events. Places can be at your neighborhood club house, a restaurant, country club, or even your living room.

For girls-only events add a performance plus belly dance mini lesson for even more fun!

Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.

A. July 2013 - Poolside Performance for a Birthday Party in Inverness Area.

June 2013 - Dinner Performance for Temple Emanu-El, Downtown Birmingham.

Feb - 2013 Bridal Shower/Bachelorette Party in Birmingham, AL

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Quality is important. Quality costuming is generally imported from overseas. A dancer should have a professional demeanor, show up on time, not mingle with the party, or eat your food!

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I have trained with some of the best Egyptian Cabaret style belly dancers available in the state, and attended workshops of well known dancers such as Aziza of Montreal and Ansuya to keep the tradition of Egyptian Cabaret alive.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I enjoy making people smile! I love interacting with the audience and bringing a dance from the Middle East to Birmingham, AL.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. I am continually asked where my costumes came from. Most are imported from Egypt or Turkey. These are either purchased online, or directly from the vendor at a workshop. I have built a few costumes myself, purchasing the fringe from wholesale Egyptian dealers as well.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. My favorite weddings to participate in are always mixed Arabic and American. I enjoy bringing that little bit of home to the bride's reception and showing her new family something of her culture.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I continually attend workshops and participate in online training with professional dancers across the country and world.

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. I have recently moved to the Charleston area and am looking forward to providing South Carolina with my dance expertise.
