Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Strip & wax tile floors. Carpet clean & Spot clean carpets and rugs. Buff tile floors. General office cleaning & detailed cleaning. Mopping. Dust mopping. Vacuum carpet & rugs. Yes..we even do windows!

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. know the square footage of the home or office space you want to be cleaned. Also, if this is a floor or carpet job, know the square footage in advance before calling asking for a quote. This helps a great deal.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Carpet lasts 10 times longer if you vacuum it once a day! Also, a light spreading of baking soda when you vacuum will keep odors away like cat & dog urine, etc.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We here at the Cleaning Crew do not just clean & leave. We do follow up calls and visits to make sure our clients are happy with the work that has been performed as well as see if the client has additional needs. We also work on referrals.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. We stripped 7000 sq ft of tile floor in an old dollar general store. Shelves had sat in the same spot for over 15 years and there had been a flooding so a lot of rust had built up around edges of shelves made of steal. This job took 3 days to strip & was as the client wanted "5" coats of sealer and finish on the tile. In the end, we realized we underbid by about $500 but we chalked it up as a lesson learned!

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. I would suggest you find out how many cleaning services in your area are licensed & bonded. Also, never open the door to a refrigerator while on the job if you work in the medical or health care industry. :)
