Richard quoted me $1600 for the job which was clearly articulated. I asked to hire him and he came by to see the job which was precisely the same size of work as stated. He then sent me a quote for 70% more than the quoted about acknowledging it was the same size as the what I requested yet that he wouldn't do it because it would lose money. A total bait and switch.

Hi my name is Joseph, the administrative assistant for Allbuilt Contracting and the person who estimated and made the appointment for this proposal. Allbuilt Contracting was not hired for this job. The project quote was amended to an increase of 50% after the exact square footage was obtained.
When estimating jobs on Thumbtack it is often difficult to give an exact quote without seeing the project. That is why we say estimate. We are grateful for your feedback, and as a result we no longer provide pricing before seeing the project. As a company looking to build customer relationships, we hope that each of our clients are open to discussing their issues with us and look forward to future suggestions.
