Survey findings and summary
Thumbtack.com, in partnership with the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, has released the new results from the second annual Thumbtack.com Small Business Survey. The 2013 study draws upon data from over 7,000 small business owners nationwide and shows that Small businesses gave Arizona a 'C+' grade overall, up from the 'C' it received in 2012.
Some of the key findings for Arizona include:
- In addition to improving across multiple categories, Arizona received high marks for the ease of hiring additional employees in the state, earning an 'A-' grade. However, the state struggled with its training and networking programs, earning a 'C+'.
- Among major cities nationwide, both Phoenix and Tucson earned a 'C+' overall. Phoenix's grade was the same as 2012, while Tucson's was an improvement.
