A word from Steve Feld of Feldkraft Lock & Safe:

Steve goes for laugh:

In some 5,000 service calls since February 1993, the funniest one was a dispatched call through Cross Country Motor Club to Florence to unlock a car. The customer told me by cellphone that she was standing near the mailbox on the corner where the old County Building was--right where I was, and I still could not see her! I finally asked if she was in Florence...Arizona and she said no, that she was in Florence, Alabama.

The CCMC dispatcher entered AZ instead of AL while setting up the call.

This is my 18th year of business and the stories go on and on like this one for the adventures this mobile service has brought me in helping calling customers with vehicle lock-outs, residential/commercial rekeys, safe installations and movesl, as well as new construction lock and door/closer installations from Gila Bend, Casa Grande, Apace Junction, Surprise and much more.

Been to the top of Mt. Ord south of Payson, done work at Apache Lake (be careful tossing car keys to other boats), and have spent time in several malls throughout the valley rekeying locks at The Buckle, Apple Computer stores, Regis Hair Salons.

In the business since March 1991

After learning the basics of lock installation and repair between 1991-1992, I have followed and reacted to the changing demand of the market for locksmithing services from standard house rekey work (1993-2004), to extensive automotive lock repairs (1996-1999), to moving/installing very heavy commercial safes into the many new stores that opened between 2003-2007 to installing new hardware on strip mall locations 2006-2008.

Since the Great Recession began during the summer of 2008, I have added the skills I have gained doing honey-do lists since 1979 to my repertoire--these additions to the extent that my company is licensed for both technical expertise and contract monetary limits.

(1) Duct work clearing related to clothes dryers, including simpler
washer/dryer repairs--lint build-up, lid switch replacement, etc.

(2) Closet door/ sliding glass door track repairs, screen replacements.

(3) Pool filter element work, pump motor replacements.

(4) Project tear-down, basic sheet-rock/stucco repair and painting.

(5) Debris recycling and hauling.

Please call Steve Feld--let me know how to win your business.

Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I strive to use no non-USA made products for better original equipment quality, and to support the employment of our fellow citizens. My work in the field continues with the great care I take for my own house repairs. No difference in the attention-to-detail.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The challenge of quickly assessing the project to arrive at job completion in the time the customer expects, with more accomplished than the customer expects. (At home this translates into a here is what is next on the list from the boss.)

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. How fast can you be here for emergencies and when will you be here for scheduled calls.

As soon as possible usually means 15-30 minutes. I plan my calls carefully and arrive on-the-dot 95% of the time, with a call to explain my delay otherwise.
