Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. Every area is different depending on the neighborhood, Insects, Birds and Bees as well.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Compare apples to apples we spend 40 min. to a hour to take care of your service, Not 10 to 15 min.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Why do I still have bugs, but my guy is here for only 10 or 15 min. I don't think he uses the right spray. Well you just answered your own question. You have bugs around because 10 to 15 min. Is not the time to provide a good service and inspect and try to take care of your problem. It's not just the spray we use but where we place it and if we find your hot spots. 10 min. Most of the time we are asking you questions still.
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. What type of insect do they have if they don't know no worry we are the pros. The size of their home, average lot size or large lot? Plus have they used a service before and how often was it done.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. We take pride in our work. We have been a company that has been built by refferals. We listen and take care of your concerns. We are small enough to care but large enough to meet your needs.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. The people that we meet everyday. We feel that our customers become our friends not just a customer. Also solving concerns, that other companies could not.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. Why do you not spray our baseboards? The reason is we place the material where insects enter and live and stop them outside instead of waiting for them to come in contact inside where the sprays are out in the open.
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. One of the best treatment stories I think of is a lady had ants all over her kitchen and we are talking in the thousands. She had 9 different services out to help before she called us. We took care of her ants on the 1st treatment. Yes she is still a customer 14 years later.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. What we have to learn about the insects to help get rid of their problem. Our job does not stop on a normal work day.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. I was laid off from construction in the early 80s. Newly married and just had our first child. Loved being outside, well 24 years later here I am in my own business. I worked for a large company for 9 years that said they cared for the customers. Well do I need to say more.
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. Removing Pigeons from a business location that was right above a restaurant. No more birds.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. Our field requires us to renew every year with 6 hours. So you can ask how long they have done service and figure 6 hours each year. A 2 year tech will never be the same as a 20 year tech. Or do they have the knowledge support.
Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?
A. Going green, the funny thing we have been doing it since 1993. With having children and pets and working with chemicals everyday. I was sold even back then.
Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.
A. A scorpion service that was a single mom of a 2 year old. Spending time to make sure all of her questions were answered, and she felt more at ease when we left. Was there for 1 and 1/2 hour to do the service. $45.00 mt.
Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.
A. What type of insects, how long of trouble, size of home and lot size. How often to provide service. We offer one time, monthly, bi- monthly, and 1/4 ly. All prices are different and if we can control your concern on that type of service time.
Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. It's a great field to be in if you don't want to do it as a job only. Remember it's hot in the summer and some cold days in the winter. Are you going to learn and read about all the insects, after hours that you don't get paid for except making your customer happy that you solved their problem. Kept the kids safe from getting stung by a scorpion, removing bees from their home, and leaving with a smile on both of your faces.
