Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Always hire a licensed contractor. It may be slightly cheaper to hire someone who is unlicensed but you need to protect yourself.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Keeping a fresh coat of paint on the exterior of your home not only keeps it looking beautiful but it also protects it from the elements in our harsh desert climate.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Get the estimate in writing as well as making sure they include a warranty. Inquire as to what brand/type of paint they use, get a timeline and make sure they do a final walk thru with you to ensure your satisfaction.
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. Make sure you are looking for a licensed contractor. Check with the Registrar of Contractors to make sure that their license is current and they have a squeaky clean record. Ask for references and see if you can take a look at some of their recent work.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. At Cardinal Painting Company we accept nothing less than 100% complete satisfaction from our clients. Check out our work and you'll see!
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. The look on my clients' faces when they see the transformation of their home. Many times people will let their homes go way too long between paint jobs and they cannot believe we can make their home look like new again after years of neglect and weathering. It's amazing what a professional paint job can do!
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. I wish more people would focus on the quality of the work instead of the price when they get an estimate. It's just like anything else ... you get what you pay for. I've seen many people get burned by unprofessional and unlicensed painters and have had to go in and fix what the last "painter" screwed up. I've seen some horrible scenes and quite frankly it's better to pay a little more and do it right the first time. It will pay off in the end and save you a few gray hairs!
Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. LOL! If you want to get into painting in AZ, you've gotta be pretty tough. Crawl up a ladder to your roof in the middle of July and do some calisthenics for a few hours. Make sure you drink 20 or so gallons of water. If you can make it down the ladder at the end of the day without passing out, latch on to a seasoned painting veteran and have them teach you some skills. There are a lot of tips and tricks to painting correctly. You certainly want the home or business to look beautiful when you're done, but it's very important to make sure it's protected from the elements as well. A lot of people don't realize that.
