Thank you for your interest in my bodywork services. Many of my clients tell me that my treatment is unlike any other or that it was the best massage they'd ever had.
My name is Joshua, and I have been an LMT for over 8 years. I have completed just under 2000 classroom hours of bodywork training. I graduated from ASMT in 2003 and also completed their masters program in 2008, as well as their esthetics program in 2010. I am currently enrolled in a transfer program to use my education to gain a physical therapy license as well so that I can better treat my clients in the realm of rehabilitation.
I am proficient in Swedish massage, trigger-point therapy, advanced cranial sacral therapy, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, structural integration, Thai massage, lomi lomi, Russian sports massage and traditional sports massage with advanced stretching techniques, reflexology, injury massage, and lymphatic drainage massage. I'm continuously engaged in learning about new techniques and modalities that can enhance my bodywork treatments and my clients' well being and overall health. I believe that my clients should be just as engaged in their body's treatment as is the provider of service. This is how you learn to change your body for the better, allowing for it to internally heal itself. The moment you become aware of an ailments' cause is when you choose to change in order to overcome the dis-ease. I like to utilize all of my skills for each client and tailoring each treatment to the individual's needs and wants.
My rates are $50 for 1 hour and $75 for 1½ hours. I look forward to working with you all soon. Have a wonderful day, and don't forget to breathe, namaste!-
Question and answer
Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. Usually 1½ hr full body massage focusing on high tension/stress areas designated by the client at the start of the treatment. I adjust the treatment as the session progresses to account for any unknown areas that are found during the treatment. Many people like to add on Reflexology to a session as well.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. See if a provider you are interested in will give you a ½ off discount for your first service. This will enable you to Interview or try out a provider without having to pay so much to find someone that you prefer to work with you. It will also give the provider an opportunity to win you over with exceptional service at a discount. Just remember that Massage is not easy and your provider deserves to make a living just like everyone else.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Because of my Honesty, Awareness, and Compassion. I am always honest about my abilities, aware of the client and their body's needs as well as allowing compassion to rule my senses when I'm working in someone elses personal space.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. That I get to be a mechanic of the most incredible and amazing peice of machinery known to man, the human body. The amount of stress that our bodies can tolerate is amazing and astounding, however, that does not mean that the human body can or will accept it for extended periods of time. This is what causes injury, You wouldn't drive your car for 20,000 miles w/o changing your oil would you? Everyone DESERVES massage and attention to their bodies that cannot be obtain from ourselves.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. What can I do to prevent muscle soreness/fatigue? Sea Salt Bath! Sea or Epsom salt baths are an excellent way to prevent fatigued muscles. Use two cups in standard size bath, soak for 15 to 20 minutes. Sea Salt is a combo of two elements; Magnesium and Sulfate. The magnesium (a metal) penetrates the subcutaneous level of the skin and encapsulates our nerves repairing damaged tissue. This allows our electrical impulses to travel more smoothly and freely throughout our bodies creating an overall sense of wellbeing and homeostasis. The sulfate (a salt) acts to draw out impurities from our bodies releasing the build up of lactic acid (the biproduct of energy used by our muscles contracting which is what causes the muscle fatigue/soreness).
