Tammy Roecker has been certified nationally in therapeutic massage and bodywork as well as a state-licensed massage therapist in Arizona, certified personal trainer through AFAA with extra training in perinatal fitness and a current American Massage Therapy Association member for more than twenty years with additional certifications in pre/perinatal massage.
She is also a certified childbirth instructor and a birth doula with Nurturing Hearts Birth Services of AZ.
She was also a certified infant massage instructor, and a former certified international instructor trainer for IAIM.
Her favorite work is perinatal massage and helping families bond although she works with all types of people and ages and has a wide range of continuing education in everything from Reiki to rolfing.
She strives to inform and enable women and their families so that by compassionate conversation and nourishing touch, these families will have an atmosphere to maximize that infant’s potential, and encourage family bonding that will last a lifetime and establishing a more peaceful society as well.
Tammy is the winner of the October 2011 Family-Centered Caregiver Recognition award!
The Family-Centered Caregiver Recognition Project serves to honor and celebrate Arizona's birth professionals who give commendable care as described by The Coalition for Improving Maternity Services.
These individuals base their practice on a philosophy of care that is evidence based, family focused, and mother friendly.
They work to improve the situations under which women labor and birth, and actively dishearten, or work to change habits that are not in the best interest of mothers, babies and families.
Professionals who directly provide care to pregnant or birthing women or families in AZ or who, alternatively, has effect on their care and/or experience (through policy change, volunteer work, etc.) is qualified for this award.
