Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Restaurants (exterior concrete, sidewalks, rear docks, & drive thrus), dumpster cleaning, residential driveways, & house exterior cleanup/paint prep.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Do your homework. Ask for experience, references, insurance, what equipment and processes they will use, etc. Get the details.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. If I were a customer, I wish I would know the proper techniques, equipment, and procedures it takes for a professional pressure washer to complete the job with no damage. Starting and operating a pressure washing business takes lots of research, and literally thousands of dollars in equipment. Do your homework and ask your pressure washing contractor for experience, references, completed jobs, etc.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. What type of surface do they want cleaned? (concrete, wood, metal, etc.)
Approx. how many square feet?
Are you looking for a regularly scheduled cleaning, or a one time cleaning?
What made you check into pressure washing? (mold, algea, grease, gum, etc.)

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We are family owned & operated. We know how important our customer satisfaction is to our success. We never "splash & dash". We take pride in every cleaning we do, and it shows!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The thing I like most about my business/line of work is the satisfaction my customers express when they see what a difference we have made. Besides keeping up the cleanliness of properties, we also raise safety standards at restaurants due to removing slip hazards such as grease.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. The most common question is from commercial customers: "We scrub our concrete every night when we close, and cannot get it back to a nice clean look, can you remove all this grease & gum?" Simply put, yes we can. We use HOT WATER pressure washers with 3000psi, along with commercial detergents, to deep clean & sanitize. Gum is removed with hot water by melting it, rather than etching the concrete with high pressure too close.
Another common question is: "Can you remove tire marks?" Yes we can! In most cases, we can completely remove them.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. My brother and I were cleaning the concrete for a local restaurant chain, when we heard screeching tires, sirens, & a police helicoptor. A guy running from the police jumped his SUV down a 20ft embankment into the shopping center we were working in at 2am. He jumped out and started running on foot towards us. My brother saw the cops chasing this guy and thought he'd help, so he went for the guy on foot. As he was chasing him, a cop surprised the criminal from the side and took him down. The police actually thanked my brother, and we went back to work, more awake than before!

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I am a business owner that came from a customer service management background. I have always wanted my own business. I really enjoy running my business, and looking for ways to grow it. Of course, customer service is always a top priority.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. We did concrete coatings before pressure washing, but still had a small pressure washer to prep the concrete. That was always my favorite part. I loved the way the surface looked after a good cleaning. Plus in Arizona, it's nice working at night (for stores & restaurants) to beat the heat!

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. Since I love airplanes, I was excited when a local aircraft scrapyard called for us to clean some large landing gear and fuselage pieces that one of their customers purchased. They were covered in grease & grime. After a couple hours, they were completely clean. It was nice to have a change from the normal things we wash.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. We are members of a online pressure washing owners forum which constantly has things to research & learn. There are always seminars, online chats, distributers offering advice & the latest new products & technology.
We are also subscribed to a national pressure washing publication that has tons of industry news, events, & information to better our industry.

A. Pricing is simple. If it is for restaurants, we have a detailed price list with several choices of cleaning options. Other commercial jobs require a free assessment of the property, and a free estimate.
Residential is the same, we are happy to come out and provide a free estimate and discuss all the details.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Do your homework. There is MUCH more to pressure washing than just going to Home Depot and purchasing a small pressure washer. Someone with inexperience can cause alot of damage. Most commercial pressure washers start at more than a couple thousand dollars. Talk with existing owners about what equipment is needed, what types of customers you want to service, etc. Create a business plan and review it with someone in this field.
