Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. That just because the contractor recommends a designer or architect doesn't mean that this person has real design talent and is suitable for your job. I think home owners should do some research, look at some magazines, find out what the latest trends are and do the best to judge, does this person really have what I want in terms of skill for my project. This includes small renovations and additions as well. Design talent is pretty rare-look around!

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. For my profession, I hope clients have a realistic budget of what they can afford. To some extend, most clients not being in the industry just don't have a point of reference and understanding of what items and construction will cost. That's why I get a contractor involved very early in the process.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. WZ Design Studio stands for excellence in design. consistantly on ever project, even the small ones we look to provide the highest level of design excdlence for our clients. Which translates into a higher return at the time of sale. This is documented over and over.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Meeting new people in different walks of life with different needs and dreams.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. For small jobs most cusrtomers are afraid that a top design firm will cost too much. This is far from true. We charge as little as $800.00 for small patio covers. And for home renovations/additions typically about $3.25/S. F. of area renovated-since we have to measure the house there is a minimal charge of $1,500.00 for renovation work. Still not bad for first class design that will potentially add value to to your home both now and certainly in the future. If you don't get professional help for your renovation. Your home could actually lose value.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I wish customers would provide as much information as they have about their ideas. Such as including pictures of example projects that may have a look or an aesthetic that you really like.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I liked to draw as a child and was decent at math. You are part artist and part engineer. An unusual combination.
