- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It was the year 1986 at the time I held the position of head designer at Georgia Pacific. The plant had a divesture. The company sent me to St. Louis to fill a position at Vectronix Corporation. I decided to stay in the great state of Arizona The challenge now was to successfully integrate to a field of work I could grow with & enjoy. It was ironic at about the same time I had my carpets cleaned. I can remember this guy came with machine in the truck of his car I also remember when this guy left my carpets looking a little better if that. I also realized there wasn't many carpet cleaners in the Phoenix area to speak of. It was at that time I decided to form Rug masters Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning. It was the perfect fit. The previous job aloud me latitude to design product lines. I, had to be a self starter that's why I knew this business would be challenging & give me the ability to ware many hats; especially to effect great carpet cleaning, accomplishing this would take improving on current technology, This was great because the reason this business looked so good was my love for innovation & implementing improvements. I teamed up with a Mechanical Engineer Eric Shultz, and the industry's first truck -mounted heat exchange was produced. It became contagious and inspired and now was being used in the entire Phoenix market Area. At last the customers could enjoy cleaner dryer carpets. This technology is still purveyed by cleaning equipment company's like Bridge Point Equipment Co. and Interlink Systems just to mention a few. ,But we didn't stop there! We stayed committed to making improvements to designing the first all natural gas water heaters.. This just developed clean heat Technology is superior to even the currently used exhaust water heating methods. So now this process cleans more even and won't put exhaust fumes in your carpets and upholstery anymore. We are proud that presently Just Brite is the only company using this technology! - What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure the company you hire has been in business for at least 10 years. Most companies train their own technicians, and many times your senior certified technician is licenced to train employees and prepare them for their certification,and as always experience counts. Be sure to call and ask questions specifically about your needs. Remember they're a lot of copy cats especially in the Phoenix market place that try to sell you either insulting your intelligence or prevaricating there system of cleaning. Make sure you have a guarantee,and don't pay tell the job is finished. It is true that no company can clean carpet and air ducts for $4.95 a room. Its a scam! You cannot alter the ph level in water and call it 0 residue not only is it chemically impossible, if its not 7% like they tell you its no longer a solvent not capable of cleaning. Be intelligent and always hire honesty. You will always talk to me or technician never a salesmen or secretary. - What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
It's simple I'm a certified master cleaner, besides having to be in business for 25 years to even be eligible, this is a certification you have to earn. Experience has taught me that those traditional spray-on pre spotting methods over wets carpet. Think about it, if you pre-spry a liquefied cleaner on your carpets all the dirt and debris will break down to the bottom of carpet padding and sit there, causing mold, odors in your carpets and carpet padding. Not to mention reducing the life of your carpets and upholstery.
