Introduction: Venessa Colinares' experience in design has become a promising career that has garnered praise in fields, from web design to prepress and printing. Her ability and talent have earned a level of acclaim, which has allowed her to work alongside some of the most innovative design studios and firms in Arizona. Ms. Colinares is a graduate of Collins College in Tempe, Arizona, where she not only earned her Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design but also was granted the Collins College Founders Award as well as being the first and only design student to win a silver ADDY award in 2008. She is trained and specializes in Macintosh based computer systems specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Quark Xpress. Along with the education, experience and professionalism, her attention always turns to accuracy and personality. Whether Ms. Colinares is part of a design team or independently assigned to a project, she is in constant communication with all who are involved. Her professionalism can be easily seen in her design work and within her creative ideas. ADDY Award Winner Temple, Arizona (PRWEB) February 26, 2008 Colinares, who is in her senior year, submitted a class project where she created a corporate identity campaign for her own clothing company. Her campaign included a business plan, logo, and company and product brochures, signage, and packaging. The ADDY(R) Awards honor creative excellence in nearly every area of advertising and are the only major national creative competition with three rigorous levels of judging -- at the local, regional and national levels. The Student ADDY Awards spotlight up-and-coming talent, recognizing and honoring outstanding creative work done by students of accredited U.S. educational institutions. All work submitted in the Student ADDY Competition is subject to the same rules and guidelines and submission requirements as the professional ADDY Competition. Entering students must be enrolled full-time or part-time in an accredited U.S. college. Additionally, work must be created while students are still enrolled in school. Students cannot be employed in the advertising industry. According to Dana Veirs, Colinares' graphic design instructor who encouraged her to enter the contest, "This is a quite an achievement for a student to accomplish on his or her own. We are extremely proud of Venessa and are excited to have her represent Collins College at this year's ADDY(R) Awards." Collins College Founder Chandler, Arizona (Collins College) July 8, 2009 Not often, or should I say ever, have we extended this award to a student. However, this year we are proudly honored to award this year’s Collins College Founder award to a woman who has proven herself over and over again that no adversity is too large. Her first day of school here in Collins College I asked the class, "who in here is an artist?" No one raised a hand, but after about a 45-second pause, the only hand that went up was Ms. Colinares. Her art, design sense and commitment commands attention. This award is not only a representation of our school but a representation of what we stand for as a community. This award is an understanding that whoever shall receive it, is the absolute image of what we stand for and who will represent us in this industry best. The 2008 Collins College Founders Award goes to Ms. Venessa Colinares.
