- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Each piece is different when we do a custom design and since the cost of the metals and stones vary on a daily basis I cannot give accurate pricing until after I determine exactly what the piece will look like and all measurements and stone sizes. Then I have to make a check of current market prices for all parts or stones that must be ordered. This usually takes 1 - 3 business days.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly learning new techniques. That is what I love about this business. You can be in this business for a very long time and you will always find new challenges. Every piece has its own fingerprint. It is fun to get the ones where I can be challenged!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had a teacher in junior high that introduced me to metal work. She asked me to help her teach her after school jewelry program and encouraged me to enter two competitions. I won awards in both of them. After that I fell in love with making jewelry!
