FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Basically (it's not complicated): $15 for 30 mins, $30 for a one hour lesson. How often you have a lesson (i.e. weekly, biweekly, etc.) should be determined by your vocal goals, your reasons for taking lessons, your age, and how quickly you would like to see results.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely. I am CONTSTANTLY researching in order to meet the demands of my students. Why? Honestly, part of it is humility on my part. I am good at singing, but not good enough for my personal standards. And I want to make sure I am good enough for people that are PAYING me, and traveling to my house! My husband and I have just recently been college students, and our sense of valuing where and how we spend our money is keen. We understand that if you are going to pay for something, you want it to be worth your time and money. That is my goal, to make my lessons worth it for you. I strive to meet my students' needs. And on top of all that, I study on my own! I pay for my own voice lessons, and am in the process of certifying as a teacher.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Honestly, this line of work just found me. When I am singing, it is not just my voice. It is my entire being that is transferred from me to my listeners, through the music. I think people underestimate the communicative power of singing... It is not just words--it is not just music---it's everything all combined!... So powerful. And what a neat experience when you really get on the right foot and have all things vocal aligned properly as you go into a song. I love it!
