Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Make sure that the person teaching you or training center you are going to carries insurance and is licensed as a business. Make sure they are not only well trained in the field but also able to pass that information on in a manner that is easy to understand.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Most certifying agencies will NOT accept online only CPR classes. To be certified in CPR for AZ DHS and most other licensing boards you will need to take an inclass lecture and hands on test, or a mixed media class that has an online classroom portion and a separate hands on testing component with an instructor. Employers can be fined and lose their license as well as individuals can lose their license for trying to submit an online only CPR certification card to overseeing agencies.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Are you or your company insured?
Do you use professional teachers who are also experts in the CPR field?
Are you teaching the CURRENT CPR standard?
Is there a hands on component to this class?
Is my card issued at class?
What certifying agency issues my card?
