John Mastrangelo

Introduction: Here is a direct quote of one of my evaluations written by Mr. Siwek, Independence High School's operations vice principal: "John Mastrangelo is to be commended for his many efforts with the NJROTC unit. Chief Mastrangelo's work and preparations for extra curricular events, such as trips to Luke AFB tours of military facilities, highly successful Color Guard opportunities and major sports events, visits to various events on or near celebrations of Veterans Day, other significant military-related holidays, culminating in a flag-folding ceremony, which brought widespread acclaim. Numerous activities were coordinated by Chief Mastrangelo, which raised money and the morale of the school, like flag raising and national anthem ceremonies as well as the dignity, which has been added to formal events, such as our proms, open houses and "Future Freshman Parent Nights" are additional examples of the value of NJROTC efforts. In addition, on numerous times we have called on the chief to provide escorts for dignitaries on campus. The program and the efforts of our instructor are truly an asset to our campus and the community." I want to make a difference in students' lives and do those activities I did with them. I taught them how to plan, coordinate and execute complex endeavors in real-world environments.
