Mike Marden was referred to us by a member of our church who knew of him professionally. From the moment of the referral, Mike worked tirelessly to assist us in getting our very much-needed restroom renovation at our 60 year old church.
Mike is incredibly enthusiastic and conveys a "can do" attitude. During our preliminary discussions, Mike listened intently to all of the varied parties in our well-established congregation. Mike quickly produced drawings with his recommendations for our renovation and remain within our limited budget. Mike presented his recommendations to the varied constituencies in a winsome and professional manner.
We are now in the implementation phase. Mike has worked very hard to get a few open permit items from a previous construction project and is moving our project through the city permit process.
I look forward to seeing the completed project and having ADA compliant restrooms on our campus.
More to follow....

Mike Marden was able to help me through a difficult process with the County Planning & Development office. He produced all of the materials for permit review and personally stewarded the process. He showed great knowledge and expertise in County requirements and codes. I would definitely recommend Mike to anyone looking for an architect with strong skills and great relationships with the people responsible for making permits happen.

we live in Maricopa County in north scottsdale. .mike submitted all plans and paperwork for the construction of a 4 stall shedrow for our horses. we were told by neighbors the approval process would take several months to complete. we received our permits in 4 weeks. there were no questions about the project.
this was due to mike's knowlege of the county drainage and flood dept and the planning and zoning dept..
he also submitted and had approved several other projects to bring our property into complete compliance with the with planning and zoning depts requirements.
we would highly recommend mike as a professional and knowlegable architect

A. Restaurant Tenant Improvements
A. You get what you pay for, so that unheard of price you are quoted may cost you more before you are finished. If they tell you that their drawings will be approved on the first try guaranteed, I have a bridge to sell you.
A. What do the Codes say? Most are searchable on Google, but vary by Municipality, City and State.
A. Our Drawings are put together very efficiently, while also being very complete. We know this because Contractors, Developers and Plan Reviewers have commented on the appeal and clarity of our drawings. They wish that all drawings were so easy to follow and well coordinated, while also not over-inundating them with information. The WDS product speaks for itself.
A. As an Architect, I get to meet many people every day. They are all different and I get to help them fulfill their dreams. Even better is when I have the opportunity to spread the Lord's Message to them. It is also fun working with the great Consultants and Design Team Members that support Western Design Studio and make delivery a superior product so possible.
A. Question: How much time will it take to get a Permit? Phoenix Architect: It depends on the Municipality and Project Scope, but can very from over the Counter to two Months.
A. Almost immediatley after completing construction on a permit we secured for a Pool Hall Client, the next Owner hired us to convert it into a Bar and Grill within one year's time.
A. The enormous amount of time and cost required to complete school, training and licensing exams compared to the small amount of compansation we receive.
A. I like art, building and drawing.
A. Law Tigers of Levenbaum and Cohen Attorneys at Law. Phoenix Archtiect Western Design Studio was hired for design services input for Commercial Architecture involving a facelift and upgrades at their 25 year old downtown Phoenix Law Office Building.
A. WDS completes Tenant Improvement Drawings on a regular basis for a few thousand dollars and handles the Building Permit Process by an Registered Phoenix Architect, licensed in Arizona to practice Commercial Architecture. Our average timeline is two weeks.
