Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. how many years have they been face painting?
are they insured?
do they have any reviews on Yahoo, Yelp or Kudzu?
are they using professional FDA compliant, non-toxic face paint?
hygienic practices -- do they clean their brushes, sponges and face paint?
what if a child is obviously sick (runny nose, coughing) how do they handle that?
are they using cosmetic grade glitter?
ask if they have References (webpage or emailed)
do they offer fast & simple designs for 'little wigglers' as well as arm or body art for those who don't want their faces painted?
And lastly, do they ENJOY working with kids, teens and adults of all ages?

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. As a customer, I would want to know what kind of face paint and products face painters use. Are they non-toxic, hypo-allergenic, safe for kids with skin problems? I'd like to know about the brands, so I can go online and read about ingredients and safety issues. It's nice to know what kind of training the face painter has -- is she self-taught, has she had instruction with a professional face painting teacher, does she keep current on products and new techniques, how long has she been painting professionally?

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. I started face painting 24+ years ago in the valley. I use FDA approved make-up (face paint) and cosmetic grade glitter. I have high standards of face painting hygiene and I sanitize all my brushes and sponges after each party and event. I dress professionally and can wear theme party attire if given enough notice.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I love meeting people of all ages and entertaining them with my FACE ART. I give 'em a big smile when they sit down in my chair. I ask them what colors they like, what do they like to do for fun, if they have pets. It gives me good insight when I'm painting or drawing them. When they sit for me, they're giving me the gift of trust, to transform them into beautiful, sexy, cool and awesome works of ART. And I do my best to give them their 'hearts desire'. When they 'see' their face in the mirror, or their caricature drawn on paper, they're eyes light up and they give me the biggest SMILE...which is my reward for doing Fantastic Face Art & More!

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Face painting 2 year olds, is hit or miss. Some toddlers have been painted, others have not. Some parents want their babies and toddlers to painted with a full face Spiderman and Batman designs. Those designs looks great on the 8 year old brother but babies and toddlers jerk their heads around like a pigeon, and they are often afraid of the brush getting too near their eyes.

So, I recommend babies & toddlers bave a simple design painted on their arm or (their lower leg). Kids aren't used to the sensation of the paint drying on
their skin and they want to slap their hand on it right away! When I paint their leg, they're the center of attention, they enjoy watching me paint their design, then they forget about it, but everyone else enjoys
seeing them walk around with their body art!

And Glitter Tattoos are totally FUN for all ages! Everyone loves them! They're skin-safe, colorful, fun & flirty, glittery, last 3-5 days and best of all, they're pool friendly -- how cool is that?
