Introduction: I take the time to address each student's abilities in a way that works best for them. I have an arsenal of drills and tricks to improve each student's riding, but when my usual exercises don't give the desired results I work tirelessly, researching and utilizing my network in order to find a solution that works. When student's have that "Ah ha!" moment! When something that we've been working on or towards clicks, and they feel all of their hard work paying off .

I was always a bit timid about being around horses, but being an animal enthusiast, I was determined to learn more about them. Fortunately, I met Cassandra with South Mountain School of Horsemanship. Together, we discussed my goals and set out a plan of attack to achieve them. Each time I showed up, she had an individualized lesson plan ready for me based upon my progress, and sometimes gave me some fun homework assignments to prepare me for next time. The no pressure environment makes for a great learning experience. She is kind, light-hearted, and an excellent communicator. Working with Cassandra, you immediately know you are being taught by the best. She worked with me patiently, teaching me how to predict a horse’s every behavior based upon their natural instincts, which lessened my anxiety with every visit. She taught me how to become the horse’s leader, allowing for a relationship based upon mutual respect. Her efforts have made me extremely comfortable both on and around them, and my riding ability has skyrocketed. I can’t believe the strides I’ve made in such a short period of time! I’m even beginning to learn to jump! I can’t wait to see what she teaches me next…

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I work with another trainer and instructor about 3-5 days a week in order to improve my own skills and knowledge. I also take lessons in various disciplines frequently in order to help myself to keep an open mind and to see different perspectives, as well as to help future and current students who may be interested in those disciplines.
