Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Customers typically want just general maintance. Lawns mowed, edging, trees and bushes trimmed.
But, we really enjoy doing Complete Yard designs and are always looking to create a yard better than the last one.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. That you should shop around for a good deal, but please understand that you need someone to come out and view what you need done. Even if you think it is just a basic lawn mow. Meet the people of a company. Don't let them quote you a price over the phone, then, when they get there that day to do the work, they up the price on you!(Thats called a "Bait-and-Switch")
Also, sometimes the cheapest estimate does not always mean the greatest quality of work...

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Honeslty, the only inside secret that we can give any customer is use "google". If we do not know the answer then we will "google" it on the spot with our phones. Plus we have learned a lot of up-to-date techniques that save us time from "google."

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We are honest and communicate from start to finish with each customer. We take pride in every job we do whether it is large or small.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Meeting new people and helping them by answering questions. We also enjoy the fact that we are our own boss. We can treat people how they deserve to be treated.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. We get so many different questions that this is a little hard to answer. Most of the time we get the question "How to I get my grass to be green again?" We simple let them know that we use a fertilizer that we feel last a lot longer than the "average" brand. We also suggest to water the yard more often.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. Every week we will always come across a few things that made us smile or laugh. The best one we have is when we first started out as a company, we were driving on the freeway at about 65 mph to go mow a lawn, and the bag for one of our mowers flew out of the bed of our truck.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. We want customer to understand that they need to very clear with what they want done. Walk us through exactly how you want your yard to look. This way we can do the job you wanted and you can be happy with our sevices.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. We kept hearing from a lot of people that they had a landscaper that just did not do the best job, or they kept "flaking" out on them. Sometimes we would hear about how they felt "ripped off" by the landscaper they had.
We figured that we could do better than that and try to charge less at the same time.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Yes, we enjoy going to Home Depot all the time to sit in on classes that they offer for free. It never hurts to hear someone elses way to do something. In some cases we find that we learn a technique that saves us time.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. Our most recent is currently a 6 month work in progress. We are working with someone who is on a tight budget and can only put it $1000 a month on their yard. They have over an Acre worth of land that they want work done on. We hope to be done by April to display what was done.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. We really do not have a complicated pricing system. We try to give a flat rate for all projects whether they are big or small.

When we price a job we take into consideration how much work is invloved and how long it will take us to complete it. Material cost is included when needed.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Simple, we are located in Phoenix, AZ and it is hot. Be prepared to get a tan and drink a lot of water! Actually, we suggest that anyone who wants to own a business whether it is a Landscaping company or a Clothing company that they look into it. It never hurts to learn a little about the profession you might get into.
