Learn to play the instrument you've always wanted to play but have put off for some reason.
Private and group lessons for electric and acoustic guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, percussion, ukulele, banjo, and vocals.
Each class or lesson is custom designed for your group, age, or desired outcome, including specialized classes for music education, special needs children, retired seniors, and worship teams.
Decades of experience in teaching all ages have resulted in my special teaching methods that allow everyone the opportunity to finally play an instrument.
Classes are offered at local community centers or at your home or place of business.
A. Remember that YOU are hiring your music instructor, not the other way around. Within reason, the instructor should accommodate YOUR request and adequately explain any deviation from it in a way that makes sense to you and still keeps your interest. Experienced instructors are able to teach you what YOU want and include the bigger picture of what you should know as part of the lesson and still make it fun.
A. Playing music is fun and learning to play music should also be fun. Too many music instructors simply follow standard methods that might not apply to what you want to learn or to the time frame in which you wish to learn it. Others simply show you how to memorize finger positions to play incomplete songs or just the main riffs. I customize my lessons to your needs and over the course of the lessons, begin to unravel the bigger picture of how the music is put together (theory), how to add a more professional sound (technique), and how to take your playing to the next level, while still keeping it fun and engaging.
A. I've never met a person who honestly did not like music. And I've never met a person who never ever wished they could learn to play an instrument. I have however met many people who became discouraged or disillusioned with the lessons they took or the methods their instructors used to teach which made them give up on their instrument. I enjoy giving people the opportunity to do what they've always wanted to do, that is, to play an instrument, and to have fun playing the kind of songs they enjoy listening to. My approach allows this to happen while continuing to enjoy each and every lesson with each new song to learn.
A. As a teacher, I am always involved with workshops and other events that continue to sharpen my general and musical teaching skills. As a music director and expert educator, I am the one who conducts the workshops that train other musicians and educators to sharpen their teaching skills to develop creative ways to include music in the classroom across their entire curriculum. I also conduct workshops on sound production, both live and studio, especially tailored for churches.
