I am influenced by the many artists whose work tells a story, I'm trying to capture the moment between heartbeats, the real subject, not just someone smiling at a camera. I use lighting to set mood, color harmony, to create an emotional response to the viewer, to make them feel the connection to the subject. I want the viewers to pause for a second and reflect, not just pass the portrait by. The actual photography, the working with the client to produce something special, a joint effort, a sharing of ideas and talents. Great photography is a two way street the photographer and the subject, it is a beautiful thing when their is harmony between the two.
