FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I fell into it in High School when I was taking photography classes and a relative asked me to photograph some cars for some newspaper ads. So I would skateboard to the car dealership and take the photos then process the images so they would be in a newspaper ad the fallowing weekend. Once I realized I could make money doing what I loved I never looked back.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
In the last few months I have shot close to 1000 guitars basically every guitar Fender makes for Fender's website. The project was the largest logistical photography project I have ever worked on. All the guitars had multiple shots and the total count for images supplied was around 6000. I very proud that I can say every guitar on Fenders website I photographed.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Not every photographer is what they say they are. I'm not going to knock a photographer starting out but because I was there once but if a photographer has a great portfolio and he isn't charging very much then he might not be what he says he is. You get what you pay for.
